What We Stand for
At Katie’s Seafood Market, we’ve been redefining fresh since 1998. Born from the hard work and determination of Gulf fishermen, our story is one of grit, passion, and an unwavering commitment to quality. Founded by Buddy Guindon, his wife Katie, and his brother Kenny, Katie’s began on Pier 19 in Galveston, Texas, with a bold mission: to deliver the finest Gulf seafood while championing and supporting local fishermen.

Where We Came From
Buddy, a seasoned commercial fisherman and founding member of the Shareholder Alliance, has spent years advocating for the protection of Gulf seafood. His work has taken him to Congress, where he fights for sustainability and the livelihoods of Gulf fishermen. This dedication led to Big Fish Texas, a National Geographic reality show that gave viewers a raw, authentic look at the challenges of modern-day fishing. The series highlighted not just our family business, but our family’s ongoing mission to protect and preserve the Gulf’s resources for future generations.



Where We're Going
For over 25 years, Katie’s Seafood Market has stood as a testament to tradition and innovation, and we are just getting started. Our retail display—the largest on Galveston Island—is always packed with the Gulf’s best offerings, including Red Snapper, Grouper, Golden Tilefish, Flounder, Oysters, Shrimp, and Blue Crabs. Sourced directly from local boats, every product reflects our promise to continue to supply unmatched freshness and superior quality.
Our reach continues to stretch far beyond the docks.
